From the shared Meze plates to the Dolmades, Yemista, Kleftiko and Moussaka, our dishes are based upon a rich gastronomic tradition from the Greek Island of Crete – a gastronomy perfected over millennia. This precious heritage is the foundation for our menu and we take a great pride in sharing it with you now. Created with care and collaborating with trusted suppliers, our menu is full of authentic Greek ingredients – aubergine, courgette, vine leaves, chickpea, fresh meats & fish and above all, incredible olives and olive oil, essential to any healthy diet. The Greek ethos of taking your time in the preparation and consumption of your meal, of enjoying the company of loved ones and family while you eat and of appreciating the provenance of your food and the soil it came from, is essential to the eating experience that you will enjoy here at Elia. The key to most Cretan cuisine has always been the careful creation and slow cooking of any dish. Whether prepared for the village in Minoan clay pots or preparing delicious Dolmades in our own restaurant kitchen, the essence of the experience is care, love and pride.   Here at Elia we are proud to take our time preparing the very best cuisine representing this rich cultural tradition and we hope you take your time to experience and enjoy it.

DRINKS/ TEA & COFFEE/ COCKTAIL MENU

Our selection of teas, coffees and hot beverages is extensive but if you wish to consume your hot drink the authentic Cretan way, then coffee it is. Greek coffee is made in small cups and always consumed black or with sugar. Ask for it Sketo (no sugar), Metrio (one sugar), Gliko (two sugars) or even Frappe (iced) but never with milk! Our wine list has an extensive range of Greek and Cretan wines to compliment your meal, not to mention several European and New World examples which also work well with our ingredients.  Greek wine is produced from the finest grapes in the world due to the rich soil and year-long sunshine and we even bring some of our best wines from Santorini, which is rumoured to be the infamous Lost City of Atlantis. Please do ask for any pointers and we are happy to help with food pairing recommendations. Our Signature Cocktail list showcases a range of incredible Greek spirits and liqueurs and each one comprises of at least one authentic Cretan ingredient. Why not try some Mastiha, Metaxa or Ouzo with your pre-dinner aperitif? As with our menu, the Cocktail list uses traditional ingredients and herbs to evoke the authentic Cretan experience and transport you to Greek soil.
